Rather than promising a light plugin, Page Builder Sandwich measured one. On a clean WordPress test site with version 6.28.0, it added +0.5 kB to the page, made 0 requests to other companies, and the phone Lighthouse performance score stayed at 100. That comes from loading each block's styles only where the block appears and using WordPress's Interactivity API in place of jQuery.

Page Builder Sandwich suits people who run WordPress sites and want a page builder that stores standard WordPress blocks rather than shortcodes or a private format. Pages remain readable to WordPress, your theme and your SEO plugin, whatever you add later. Build with the usual block editor, or in Sandwich Studio, a full-screen visual editor with a layers panel, undo history, a command palette and keyboard shortcuts.
A page loads only the styles of the blocks it contains, taken from your own uploads folder, with neutral class names and no generator tags. A measured test page gained +0.5 kB and sent 0 requests to other companies' servers. The free accessibility checker points out missing alternative text and weak colour contrast while you work.
The free plugin offers 44 blocks and 20 website kits. Pro brings 68 further blocks and 8 further kits, a form builder, popups, A/B tests, a theme builder, a design system, a WooCommerce store builder and imports from Elementor, Divi, Beaver Builder, WPBakery and Figma.
